Description

Featured here is the latest iteration of the Mark I Xtreme Bowie, and the newer Mark II Extreme Bowie.

An older version of the Mark I is seen here:

The Mark II features a curve along the primary cutting edge and does away with the fuller in its entirety. These two changes have very little to affect the weight or point of balance of the knife itself. However, at the height of its arc, the blade sheds .375" of distance from its edge to the axis of the handle, increasing cutting stability along the edge of the line, and the curvature of the knife presenting greater cutting distance to the edge for a stronger cut on a close-in blow. Essentially, the M2 Xtreme Bowie borrows the curvature seen on the M1 and M2 Bolo knife.

The tip geometry remains unchanged, and aside from the different shape of the blade, the handle scales, fits and limits of the handle scales and even the sheath are common to both the M1 and M2. Both the M1 and M2 Bowies have the same features in homage to Daniel M. Certo's and RelentlessKnives' M4X Punisher combat knife, but are much larger, being eleven inches from blade to hilt and eighteen inches overall with a stock thickness of .300"

Some changes have been made to the basic geometry of the M1 and M2, mostly that the handle has become a little shorter and a tiny bit slimmer after a little bit of work and design with hands and ergonomics, but there are few other dissimilarities between different design iterations. The 60-degree crowbar grind on the back of the knife has been kept, although the radius on the back has been offset a bit to aid in making the knife easier to insert into things like between the cracks of a door and its frame to make the knife more usable as an improvised Hallaghan tool.

The material choice for the M2 Bowie has remained unchanged from its parent design the M1. CPM S30V steel has been specified, with D2 Tool steel as a low-cost substitute if need be. Heat treating is likely to consist of an oil quench and mild tempering followed by deep freezing in liquid nitrogen to remove retained Austenite for a stronger blade. Glass-reinforced Dupont Zytel has been specified for the handle scales and sheath, with stainless steel countersunk cap screws and jam nuts for mounting the scales.

i like your desing alot. the only bad thing about it is : the bottom part of the handle. it too large. it would not feel right at your belt. you should use a more skull crusher shape. a conic shape or a pyramid shape. i can totally see it with a cross section conic shape. 4 side with blood groove betwin each one.

but it's my opinion.
